2-12-2024 (KUALA LUMPUR) A 22-year-old man from Miri was fatally stabbed in what appears to be a carefully orchestrated attack involving multiple assailants at a residential complex near Jalan Sungai Tapang, Padawan.
The brutal assault, which occurred in the early hours of the morning at approximately 5am, was captured on the apartment’s security cameras, revealing disturbing details of the meticulously planned attack. Surveillance footage shows at least twelve individuals arriving at the scene in a convoy consisting of two SUVs and a pickup truck.
The attackers displayed an alarming level of coordination, with designated roles assigned to different members of the group. One assailant was tasked with vehicle parking and maintaining surveillance outside the premises, whilst others proceeded with the main assault.
Before storming the building, the group first targeted and vandalised an SUV in the car park. Despite intervention attempts by on-duty security personnel, the assailants, armed with weapons, forced their way through the apartment complex’s security measures, including breaking through a grille gate at the entrance.
CCTV footage further documented the group’s methodical approach, with one member strategically holding the door open as others entered the victim’s unit. The young man was later discovered with multiple stab wounds, suggesting a particularly violent confrontation.
Padawan District Police Chief Superintendent Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi has confirmed the incident and announced that a full investigation is underway. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which deals with murder charges.
