27-11-2024 (KUALA LUMPUR) Armed robbers executed a brazen daylight heist in Perak, Malaysia, making off with approximately three kilogrammes of gold valued at RM1.5 million (S$453,000) in a meticulously planned operation outside a gold processing facility.
The incident, which occurred yesterday at approximately 9:30am local time in Jalan Bendahara, involved masked assailants who targeted two individuals as they were transferring valuable cargo to their vehicle, according to Acting Perak Police Chief Deputy Commissioner Zulkafli Sariaat.
In a calculated move, the perpetrators deliberately crashed their vehicle into the victims’ car before seizing a bag containing the precious metal. The gang then made their escape in three luxury vehicles, which investigators believe were fitted with counterfeit registration plates.
Deputy Commissioner Zulkafli, speaking to reporters, confirmed that the robbery took place as the victims were exiting a building adjacent to the factory. “The investigation is currently ongoing, with our teams working to trace the suspects who fled the scene in multiple vehicles,” he stated.
