19-11-2024 (SINGAPORE) A devastating collision between a motorcycle and a trailer on the Seletar Expressway has left two men injured and resulted in the arrest of the trailer’s driver, authorities reported Monday evening.
The incident occurred around 8pm near the Woodlands Avenue 2 exit heading towards the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE), causing significant disruption to evening traffic. Eyewitness footage from the scene showed concerned motorists attending to one of the victims, who was lying injured on the carriageway amidst the wreckage of a severely damaged motorcycle.
Singapore Police Force officials confirmed that the 32-year-old trailer driver has been taken into custody on charges of careless driving causing grievous hurt. The motorcyclist, aged 23, and his 35-year-old pillion passenger were rushed to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, both conscious but requiring immediate medical attention.
The accident scene, which showed extensive debris scattered across the expressway, required careful management by emergency responders. The collision’s impact was evident from the motorcycle’s condition, which was found completely shattered on the road.
