11-11-2024 (JAKARTA) A serious multi-vehicle collision occurred Monday on the Cipularang Toll Road, causing significant disruption and prompting emergency response operations at the 92-kilometre marker.
The incident, which involved several vehicles in a chain-reaction crash, left numerous vehicles severely damaged, with at least one black car forced off the roadway, according to eyewitness accounts and footage from the scene.
Purwakarta Police Chief AKBP Lilik Andriansyah confirmed the incident to local media, stating that police units were dispatched immediately to the accident site. “Our officers are currently on scene managing the situation,” Andriansyah said, though he declined to provide specific details about the crash’s cause or extent of casualties.
Emergency responders were observed conducting rescue operations, with multiple individuals being extracted from damaged vehicles. The pile-up caused significant traffic disruption along the busy toll road, which serves as a major artery connecting Jakarta with surrounding regions.
