22-10-2024 (HANOI) Local authorities are investigating the deaths of two individuals found in a rented house in Long Ho district, Vinh Long Province.
The grim discovery was made on the evening of 21 October in Hung Quoi Hamlet, Thanh Duc Commune, when residents stumbled upon the lifeless bodies of a 32-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man. Both victims were found with severe neck injuries, prompting an immediate response from law enforcement.
The Vinh Long Provincial Police Investigation Agency, spearheaded by the Criminal Police Department, swiftly launched an inquiry into the tragic incident. Forensic teams worked through the night, conducting a thorough examination of the crime scene and performing autopsies to determine the precise cause and circumstances of the deaths.
Initial findings suggest a possible murder-suicide scenario, with investigators suspecting that the man may have taken the woman’s life before ending his own. However, authorities stress that the investigation is ongoing, and all possibilities are being explored.
The proximity of the crime scene to the local detention centre and the headquarters of the Criminal Police Department has added an extra layer of intrigue to the case, leaving many in the community perplexed and concerned.
Local sources reveal that the deceased man hailed from Mang Thit district and was employed as a labourer, while the woman, originally from Long Ho district, worked as a seamstress. The couple had been cohabiting in the rented property, presenting themselves as husband and wife to their neighbours.
