6-10-2024 (SINGAPORE) On Friday evening, the lifeless body of a 26-year-old man was found in a room at Hotel Boss, located at 500 Jalan Sultan Road, triggering a flurry of police activity that lasted well into the night.
The incident, which occurred around 5:40 pm, drew significant attention from local residents and passersby. An eyewitness, identified only as Mr Yang, reported to Shin Min Daily News that he observed a large contingent of police officers and vehicles at the scene, describing the atmosphere as tense and charged.
As night fell, the hotel became the centre of intense police scrutiny. Four police cars and a crime scene investigation vehicle were spotted in the hotel’s multi-storey car park, while hotel staff were seen escorting officers to the 19th floor, where the body was reportedly discovered.
The gravity of the situation became apparent when a coroner’s van arrived at approximately 9:30 pm to remove the deceased. Intriguingly, witnesses also noted the transfer of a blue luggage to a police vehicle, adding another layer of mystery to the unfolding events.
According to Shin Min Daily News, the deceased is believed to be a foreign national, though this detail has not been officially confirmed by authorities. The body was reportedly discovered by hotel staff, prompting immediate notification of the police.
In response to media inquiries, a police spokesperson stated that they were alerted to a case of unnatural death at the address. The spokesperson confirmed that a 26-year-old man was found motionless in a hotel room and was pronounced dead at the scene by a paramedic from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).
