1-9-2024 (BANGKOK) A young man lost his life in a shocking incident involving family pets. Adisak Chansakulnee, aged 18, met an untimely demise when he was attacked by three American Bully dogs at his family’s residence in Muang district.
The distressing event occurred on Friday evening when Adisak entered a second-floor room where the canines were housed. The dogs, all two years old, had been brought to the family home by Adisak’s elder brother, Abhisit, 23, merely a week prior to the incident.
Pol Maj Nattapong Wongwang, an investigator at Tha Hin police station, provided details of the tragedy. According to security camera footage, Adisak initially entered the room intending to interact with the dogs. However, the situation rapidly escalated as the animals began to attack him aggressively.
In a desperate attempt to escape, Adisak fled to a room on the ground floor. Tragically, he was unable to secure the door in time, allowing the pursuing dogs to enter. It was in this room that the young man succumbed to his injuries.
Upon examination, authorities discovered that Adisak had sustained severe bite wounds to his head and limbs. The injuries were extensive, with his skull having been breached and both ears missing. Pol Maj Nattapong noted that Adisak had been alone during the attack and had likely been deceased for over 12 hours before his body was discovered.
The grim discovery was made when Adisak’s mother and brother returned home after unsuccessful attempts to contact him by phone. They found his lifeless body in the room, still in the presence of the three dogs.
Abhisit, visibly shaken by the events, shared his bewilderment with the police. He stated that his pets had never exhibited such aggressive behaviour previously and that his brother had interacted with them on earlier occasions without incident.
“I’m at a loss to explain what happened,” Abhisit said, his voice trembling with emotion. “Perhaps the dogs weren’t entirely familiar with my brother, or he might not have understood how to engage with them properly. It’s also possible they were acting territorially, protecting their sleeping area.”
In the aftermath of this tragic incident, the dogs have been confined to their room for further assessment by animal behaviour experts. Authorities are keen to understand what might have triggered such an uncharacteristic and violent response from the animals.
