13-8-2024 (KUALA LUMPUR) A routine day on the roads of Malaysia’s capital took a dramatic turn as a lorry erupted into flames following an accident near the bustling Jalan Duta toll plaza in Segambut, Kuala Lumpur. The incident, which occurred around midday, left the driver injured and caused significant disruption to traffic flow in the area.
Emergency services sprang into action when the Kuala Lumpur fire and rescue department received an urgent call reporting the blaze. Responding swiftly to the alert, the department dispatched a fire engine and a water tanker to tackle the unfolding situation.
Arriving at the scene a mere nine minutes after the initial call, firefighters were confronted with a partially burnt lorry. The team worked efficiently to extinguish the flames, preventing further damage and potential explosions.
The driver of the vehicle, a man in his thirties, did not escape unscathed. He sustained injuries to his head and hand in the incident and was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention. The extent of his injuries and his current condition remain undisclosed.
