24-5-2024 (SEOUL) The cause of death for South Korean singer Park Bo-ram has been confirmed as alcohol poisoning, according to an announcement by Namyangju Nambu Police Station on Thursday, May 23. The 30-year-old singer passed away on April 11 after an evening of drinking with friends.
On the night of her death, Park was at a friend’s house socialising with two companions. At around 9:55 PM, after she failed to return from the bathroom, her friends found her unconscious. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Park was pronounced dead at approximately 11:17 PM.
The National Forensic Service (NFS) conducted a final autopsy, which revealed that Park Bo-ram succumbed to acute alcohol poisoning. This condition typically occurs when a large quantity of alcohol is consumed in a short period. The autopsy also noted that Park had been suffering from liver cirrhosis and fatty liver disease, the former being the same condition that claimed her father’s life in 2010.

She gained further popularity with tracks such as “Sorry,” “Celepretty,” and “Dynamic Love,” and contributed “Hyehwadong” to the original soundtrack of the 2015 K-drama Reply 1988.
Her funeral was attended by numerous former contestants of Superstar K2 and notable figures from the South Korean entertainment industry, including Kara member Youngji and actress Go Eun-ah.
