13-5-2024 (BANGKOK) A cloud of suspicion hangs over the tragic death of a 31-year-old Thai woman, identified only as Sutthida, whose body was discovered with stab wounds on a hill overlooking the northern Taiwanese city of Keelung. The victim’s aunt, Duangporn, firmly believes her niece was murdered by her employer following a dispute.
According to reports, Sutthida’s lifeless body was found near Ta Wulun, a scenic vantage point, bearing horrific stab wounds to her hands and feet. Duangporn suspects foul play, alleging that Sutthida was lured to the isolated location by the Thai wife of her Taiwanese employer on the fateful night of Saturday.
Recounting the chilling events, Duangporn revealed that Sutthida had contacted her earlier that day, informing her that her employer had instructed her to venture up the hill at 8 pm to gather vegetables. Tragically, the following day, Duangporn received a distressing phone call from Sutthida’s Thai boyfriend, also employed in Taiwan, notifying her of the grim discovery – her niece’s lifeless body on the hillside.
In a shocking turn of events, the local United Daily News website reports that the Thai wife of Sutthida’s employer, a naturalized Taiwanese woman identified only as Mrs. Lin, has been arrested by police on suspicion of murder.
Sutthida, a single mother of two sons aged four and fourteen, had travelled to Taiwan in April 2023 to work as a massage practitioner before overstaying her visa. She had recently transitioned to employment as a maid for a Taiwanese man with a Thai wife hailing from Lampang province.
Duangporn disclosed that on the night of her death, Sutthida had been embroiled in a heated argument with her employer over allegations of excessive workload and being denied dinner, escalating tensions to a breaking point.
Sutthida’s mother, Pong-ampai, vehemently rejects the initial suspicions of Taiwanese authorities, who speculated that her daughter might have committed suicide by leaping from the peak. Pong-ampai adamantly asserted that Sutthida’s profound love for her sons would have prevented her from taking such a drastic step.
