13-5-2024 (SINGAPORE) Amidst the bustling streets of Singapore, a haven for driving enthusiasts is poised to rise, promising an exhilarating experience that will reverberate across Southeast Asia. The upcoming Porsche Experience Centre (PEC), set to open its doors in 2027, will be a crown jewel in the German automaker’s global network of driving facilities, catering to both local and regional thrill-seekers.
Occupying a sprawling 9 hectares of government land, equivalent to approximately 13 football fields, the PEC will be strategically located adjacent to the Changi Exhibition Centre, off Aviation Park Road. This exciting development marks a significant milestone for Porsche, as it will be the 11th PEC in the world, and the first to cater specifically to the dynamic Southeast Asian market.
While Asia is already home to two existing PECs – one in Shanghai, China, and another in Tokyo, Japan – the Singapore outpost promises to be a game-changer, elevating the region’s driving culture to unprecedented heights.
At the heart of the PEC Singapore will be a meticulously crafted handling circuit, spanning approximately 2 kilometers in length. This high-performance playground will offer driving enthusiasts a safe and exhilarating environment to push the limits of Porsche’s legendary sports cars, unleashing their full potential under the expert guidance of professional instructors.
Echoing the ethos of PECs worldwide, the Singapore facility will be dedicated to honing the skills of every participant, transforming them into better, more confident drivers through a curated driving course tailored to their abilities.
While the exact configuration of the PEC Singapore has yet to be finalized, Porsche has hinted at an array of thrilling features, including themed exhibitions, state-of-the-art racing simulators, and inclusive activities designed to cater to the entire family. Moreover, in a first for the PEC network, the Singapore facility will boast an integrated aftersales facility, potentially offering Porsche customers the opportunity to explore and purchase performance parts on-site.
Nestled in the heart of a culinary paradise, the PEC Singapore will also cater to the epicurean desires of its visitors, offering a diverse range of dining options to “refuel” their need for speed.
Hannes Ruoff, Chief Executive Officer of Porsche Asia Pacific, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “Porsche is thrilled to mark yet another milestone by building the country’s first permanent driving-focused facility. This initiative not only reflects our commitment to delivering our unique brand of exhilaration to customers and fans, but also underlines Singapore’s pivotal role as a gateway to the thriving Southeast Asian market.”
