Tragically, two individuals were ensnared within their vehicles by the debris. Regrettably, a 47-year-old man succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while a 26-year-old man sustained multiple injuries and was promptly transferred to awaiting paramedics for urgent medical attention, M. Fatta confirmed.
The aftermath of the incident also witnessed damage to a bus stop, exacerbating the impact of the calamity.
Concurrently, Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd, the operator of the monorail line, announced service disruptions attributable to the fallen tree in proximity to its Raja Chulan station. “There will be no monorail service between the KL Sentral and Medan Tuanku stations,” the statement read. In a bid to mitigate inconvenience, the operator assured the provision of shuttle buses ferrying commuters to and from KL Sentral and Medan Tuanku, with a shuttle train operating between Titiwangsa and Medan Tuanku (Platform 1).
