26-4-2024 (BANGKOK) The Thai Meteorological Department announced on Friday that the sun would be directly overhead in Bangkok today (April 26), resulting in shadows aligning precisely under their respective objects at 12:16 pm due to this phenomenon.
Anticipating scorching conditions, the department forecasted a hot day with isolated thundershowers for Greater Bangkok, with maximum temperatures ranging from 37 to 41°C. It cautioned residents to limit outdoor activities to prevent heatstroke.
Elsewhere, the upper regions of the country are set to experience soaring temperatures due to a thermal low-pressure cell enveloping the North and Northeast.
In the South, southerly and southeasterly winds prevailing over the Gulf and the Andaman Sea are expected to bring isolated thundershowers and gusty winds. Residents are advised to seek shelter indoors and avoid areas near large trees and unsecured billboards.
Drivers are urged to exercise caution while travelling through thunderstorms, and farmers are advised to take precautions against potential damage to their crops and livestock, the department warned.
