24-4-2024 (BANGKOK) Two suspected Japanese yakuza members are currently being hunted by the police in connection with the murder of a fellow countryman. The gruesome discovery of the victim’s severed arms and mutilated body, stuffed into black plastic bags, was made by a 10-year-old boy in the secluded Soi Sawang 2 in Bang Bua Thong, Nonthaburi, last Friday (April 19).
Further investigations in the area have led to the discovery of additional disturbing evidence related to the murder. Axes and saws were found dumped approximately 2km away from where the dismembered body was found. On Tuesday, skull fragments and small joints were found in an alley near the initial crime scene. All recovered body parts have been sent for forensic analysis to confirm their connection to the same individual.
Thai authorities have made progress in the case, with the arrest of a Thai suspect on Tuesday who has provided valuable information. The suspect, identified as “Bom,” a 34-year-old Thai national, admitted to driving three Japanese men to a warehouse located on the outskirts of Bangkok.
According to Bom’s account, a heated argument broke out between the man seated in the front passenger seat and the two individuals in the back seat. Upon reaching the factory, one of the backseat passengers instructed Bom to park the vehicle and requested him to step out. While Bom was outside smoking a cigarette, a gunshot was heard from inside the car. When he rushed back, he discovered the front-seat passenger dead with a gunshot wound to the head. The remaining two Japanese men had taken the body into the warehouse and returned with several heavy black plastic bags. Bom was then instructed to drive to different locations where the bags were disposed of.
In light of this information, Bom has been charged with conspiracy to conceal and destroy a corpse, and police have accompanied him to the factory to search for additional evidence.
Thai authorities are now working in collaboration with international law enforcement agencies to obtain an Interpol warrant for the arrest of the two Japanese suspects. Investigators believe that the murder may have resulted from a botched deal involving Japanese gangsters, commonly known as Yakuza.
