18-4-2024 (SINGAPORE) Changi Airport has been ranked as the world’s second-best airport by London-based research firm Skytrax, conceding the top position to Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar.
The 2024 World Airport Awards ceremony, held at the Passenger Terminal Expo in Frankfurt, Germany, on April 17, saw South Korea’s Incheon International Airport securing the third spot.
Changi Airport also clinched the title of the best airport in Asia and was recognised for offering the best immigration services globally.
Additionally, Crowne Plaza Changi Airport received praise as the best airport hotel globally, marking its ninth win in this category.
These accolades were determined based on a global survey conducted by Skytrax from August 2023 to February 2024. Travellers rated airports based on various aspects of their experience, including check-in, arrivals, transfers, shopping, security, immigration, and departure procedures.
This marks the third time that Hamad International Airport has secured the top position, having previously won in 2021 and 2022. Changi Airport, on the other hand, held the title in 2023, marking its 12th win as the world’s best airport.
A spokesperson from Changi Airport Group (CAG) expressed gratitude for being recognised as the best airport in Asia and for offering top-notch immigration services worldwide. The spokesperson also extended congratulations to Hamad International Airport for its victory and expressed appreciation for the various accolades received in 2023 and 2024, demonstrating Changi’s resilience post-Covid-19 pandemic.
“Most importantly, we thank our passengers and airport partners for their unwavering support. They continue to inspire us to provide exceptional travel experiences for all visitors to Changi Airport,” the spokesperson stated.
