14-4-2024 (KUALA LUMPUR) A shocking incident of attempted murder took place at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1 (KLIA 1), leaving a bodyguard with severe injuries. According to a statement by Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan on Sunday, the shooting occurred around 1:30 am inside the arrival hall of KLIA 1.
During the incident, an unidentified man fired two shots, with one of them hitting the victim, who works as a personal bodyguard. Following the shooting, the suspect hastily fled the scene, leaving the injured bodyguard behind.

Subsequent investigations revealed that the intended target of the shooting was the suspect’s wife, who happened to be waiting for the arrival of an umrah group at the time. The victim suffered serious injuries as a result of the attack.
Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan emphasized that this incident was unrelated to any terrorist activities or groups and stemmed from a personal matter. He reassured the public that the situation at KLIA is secure and under control.
The case is now being investigated as an attempted murder under Section 307 of the Penal Code and the Firearms Act. Law enforcement authorities are actively pursuing leads and gathering evidence to identify and apprehend the suspect. Based on their initial findings, the police believe that the suspect has fled north.
