10-4-2024 (SINGAPORE) A recent post on Complaint Singapore’s Facebook page has stirred a blend of laughter and bewilderment among netizens, detailing an unusual transaction involving a paper Tesla offering.
According to the post, a man shared his experience of purchasing a paper Tesla offering for S$100 from a local stall. The peculiar twist came when the stall owner suggested that he also acquire the electric car’s “charging port” for an additional sum, which he agreed to, bringing the total purchase to S$200.
On Saturday (April 6), a member of Complaint Singapore recounted the encounter, revealing that the stall owner justified the higher price of the Tesla paper offering due to its association with an “electric car,” thereby negating any possibility of a discount. Just as the man was about to leave the store after parting with S$100, he was stopped in his tracks by the stall owner’s reminder: “Ah boy, you forgot to buy the charging port.”
Seeing no reason to refute the logic of needing a charging port for an “electric car,” the man agreed to fork out another S$100 for the accessory.
Since the incident surfaced on Facebook, numerous commenters have taken to the platform to jest about the man’s purchase, playfully suggesting that he should have invested more in additional car features. Some even quipped that should the “car” malfunction, the departed might need to seek out the seller.
While some hinted at the possibility of the man being overcharged for the paper offering, the prevailing sentiment among commenters was one of amusement towards the man’s S$200 expenditure.
