3-4-2024 (JAKARTA) Indonesian actress Sandra Dewi is set to stand trial on charges of corruption and embezzlement alongside her husband, Harvey Moeis. The country’s anti-corruption agency has filed a report alleging Sandra’s involvement in the scandal, claiming that she received funds from her husband’s business through questionable channels.
Various reports from Indonesian media suggest that authorities are investigating whether Sandra had knowledge of the origin of her husband’s money. The agency’s representative highlighted Sandra’s frequent purchases of luxury branded goods and her acquisition of a private jet as factors contributing to the investigation.
If found guilty, Sandra could face a maximum prison sentence of five years or a fine of RM298,003.
In a separate development, authorities have seized Sandra’s private jet and Rolls Royce luxury car for further investigation. These vehicles were reportedly gifts from her husband on the occasion of Sandra’s birthday.
Harvey Moeis was arrested on March 27 by authorities on charges of corruption and misappropriation of funds within his company.
