17-3-2024 (SINGAPORE) A routine flight by Scoot, the budget carrier under Singapore Airlines, encountered unexpected mechanical issues last Friday, leading to an unscheduled landing in Hong Kong for the Boeing 787-8 aircraft operating as flight number TR139 en route from Tianjin to Singapore.
The aircraft, nearing its seventh year in service, departed from Tianjin Binhai International Airport at 9:18 am on Friday. Flight data from FlightRadar24 revealed that the plane touched down at Hong Kong International Airport at 1:18 pm, prompted by a precautionary landing due to a mechanical malfunction. Passengers captured ground crew inspecting the aircraft’s engines during the delay.
Following the incident, Scoot issued a statement on the same day confirming arrangements for a replacement flight at 11:45 pm to transport passengers to Singapore. The airline assured assistance to those requiring further travel connections.
