8-3-2024 (SINGAPORE) Singapore-based budget airline Scoot is set to enhance its Southeast Asian connectivity with the introduction of nine state-of-the-art Embraer E190-E2 planes, scheduled to commence operations from May this year.
The airline’s expanded itinerary encompasses fresh destinations, including the idyllic Koh Samui in Thailand and the vibrant city of Sibu in Malaysia. In addition to these newcomers, Scoot will continue to serve existing destinations such as Hat Yai and Krabi in Thailand, and Kuantan and Miri in Malaysia, as officially disclosed by the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines.
The inaugural E190-E2 aircraft is poised to debut on Scoot’s existing Hat Yai and Krabi flights from May 7, marking a significant milestone for the airline. The aircraft will be delivered from Embraer’s renowned factory in Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil, with its arrival slated for April, according to Scoot.
The introduction of the E190-E2 will not only elevate Scoot’s operational capacity but also result in an increased frequency of flights to Hat Yai and Krabi, rising from seven to ten times a week, as confirmed by the airline.
As part of its strategic expansion plan, Scoot has outlined its schedule for the launch of services to Koh Samui and Miri in May, followed by routes to Kuantan and Sibu, scheduled to take off in June. This ambitious move will bring Scoot’s extensive network to a total of 69 destinations.
Prospective travelers can anticipate a seamless booking experience for flights operated by the E190-E2 jets, with bookings progressively becoming available through Scoot’s official website, mobile app, and other affiliated channels. The airline has revealed that economy class fares, inclusive of taxes, will start at S$172 for Koh Samui and S$72 for Sibu.
