5-3-2024 (KUALA LUMPUR) A Malaysian coast guard helicopter crashed into the Strait of Malacca on March 5 during a training flight, resulting in the successful rescue of all four individuals on board, as reported by the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia.
The incident occurred near Angsa Island, and while the cause of the crash was not immediately disclosed, the aviation regulator stated that there were no reported fatalities. The occupants, including the pilots, were swiftly rescued by another helicopter dispatched for the purpose.
Angsa Island, situated in the Strait of Malacca, became the location of the emergency landing during the training exercise. The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia affirmed its commitment to conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances leading to the helicopter crash.
The Malaysian Coast Guard also issued a separate statement, indicating that a comprehensive inquiry will be launched to determine the root cause of the incident.
