Presently, all 268 suspects have been handed over to the Chinese authorities.
An official from China’s Ministry of Public Security stated that since 2023, law enforcement agencies have intensified efforts to combat transnational telecommunications fraud. While achieving significant and historic successes in combating telecom fraud in northern Myanmar, the Ministry of Public Security has dispatched working groups to countries such as the Philippines, Cambodia, Laos, the United Arab Emirates, among others, to engage in international law enforcement cooperation. This ongoing collaboration has organized multiple rounds of operations, consistently expanding the crackdown’s achievements and successfully apprehending numerous suspects involved in telecommunications network fraud.
In the subsequent steps, Chinese law enforcement agencies will continue to deepen cooperation in law enforcement with relevant countries and regions.
