22-2-2024 (YANGON) Myanmar authorities have taken into custody four individuals linked to a series of motorbike robberies in the central city of Mandalay, as reported by the state-run newspaper, The Mirror Daily, on Thursday.
The arrests followed the suspects’ alleged involvement in a robbery incident on February 19, where they reportedly killed a motorcyclist in Mandalay. Investigations revealed that the victim was traveling on a motorcycle when the four suspects, riding two motorcycles from opposite directions, intercepted and fatally attacked him with knives.
The suspects, aged between 17 and 22 years old, are believed to have targeted high-value motorcycles across various areas in Mandalay, according to the report.
