13-2-2024 (SEOUL) Lisa, a prominent member of the K-pop sensation BLACKPINK, is set to make her acting debut in the upcoming season 3 of the acclaimed US television series “The White Lotus,” marking her entry into the realm of acting and becoming the second BLACKPINK member to grace HBO’s screens.
Variety reported on Monday that Lisa will be credited in the show under her full name, Lalisa Manobal, when it airs. Details regarding her role in the series, known for its portrayal of intrigue within luxurious resorts, have not been disclosed.
According to Variety, production for the third season of “The White Lotus” will kick off in February in various locations across Thailand, including Koh Samui, Phuket, and Bangkok.
In December, all four members of BLACKPINK inked renewed contracts with South Korea’s YG Entertainment Inc., the band’s label. This development sparked a surge in the company’s shares by nearly a third.
Jennie, Lisa’s fellow BLACKPINK member, previously graced HBO screens in 2023 with her appearance in the drama “The Idol,” where she was credited under the name Jennie Ruby Jane.
Earlier this year, BLACKPINK achieved a Guinness World Record for hosting the most-viewed music channel on YouTube, boasting over 90 million subscribers to date.
