The amusing incident quickly gained attention online, highlighting the risks of attempting to deceive employers in order to enjoy some time off work.
The Australian woman, identified as Leila Soares, shared a brief video on TikTok, capturing the unexpected encounter with her boss on the same flight. The video went viral, attracting widespread interest and sparking relatable stories from others who had found themselves in similar situations.
Leila’s video begins by showing passengers loading their baggage into the overhead compartments of the plane. In the accompanying text, she reveals that she had messaged her boss to inform him that she was too unwell to come to work. However, to her disbelief, she discovered her boss on the very same flight.
In an attempt to avoid any awkward interactions, Leila cleverly disguised herself by wearing a cap, sunglasses, and a mask. She managed to remain incognito, sitting inconspicuously at the back of the plane, while briefly zooming in on her boss, a moustached man dressed in blue, as he got up from his seat.
