21-1-2024 (SINGAPORE) The Chinese New Year light-up in Singapore’s Chinatown has become an unexpected source of online amusement as a dragon diorama at the event caught the attention of netizens for its curious resemblance to certain individuals, namely the late Hong Kong actor Richard Ng and internet sensation Pikotaro.
The dragon diorama, showcased as part of the festive celebrations, stirred laughter on social media platforms due to its perceived likeness to Richard Ng and Pikotaro, best known for his viral hit “Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen.”

For reference, Exhibit A showcased the dragon alongside Pikotaro, while Exhibit B presented the dragon beside the late Richard Ng.
The comical resemblance did not go unnoticed by online users, particularly members of the Facebook group “Complaint Singapore,” where photos of the dragon were initially shared.
Several users humorously pointed out the dragon’s “uncle face,” with some drawing comparisons to the animated character Shrek.
