15-1-2024 (CALIFORNIA) 34-year-old actor Jonathan Majors has reportedly been removed from the cast of the upcoming Dennis Rodman movie, “48 Hours In Vegas.” Majors, who was recently found guilty of harassing and assaulting his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari, was set to portray the controversial basketball star Rodman in the film, which delves into his infamous trip to Las Vegas during the 1998 NBA finals.
According to reports from CNN, Lionsgate, the film’s production company, has also withdrawn from the project, relinquishing control back to its producers, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Aditya Sood.
An insider shared with CNN, “I cannot imagine a world where this moves forward with Jonathan.”
The decision to remove Majors from the film comes just hours after his recent legal troubles. In December, following his guilty verdict, Disney severed ties with Majors, dropping him from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The actor had a role as Kang the Conqueror in “Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania” and the Disney+ series “Loki.”
The future of Majors’ other projects remains uncertain, including the film “Da Understudy” directed by Spike Lee. A source mentioned, “This film is in extremely early deep development where the recent trial wouldn’t have been a conversation.”
Disney has also pulled the release of Majors’ movie “Magazine Dreams,” originally scheduled for December, from its schedule, with no information available on when it might be released.
