9-1-2024 (JAKARTA) An 18-year-old Indonesian girl has issued a public apology amidst widespread criticism and outrage after a video of her attempting to make a cat smoke went viral.
The disturbing footage captured the young girl’s misguided attempt to insert a lit cigarette into the cat’s mouth. When unsuccessful, she resorted to blowing smoke directly onto the frightened feline’s face, prompting the cat to hastily escape.
Law enforcement officers took notice of the incident and visited the girl to address the matter. Subsequently, she uploaded a video apologizing for her actions, asserting that it was intended as a joke and that she never intended to cause harm to animals.
Despite her apology video, the teenager continued to face severe criticism and received threats from concerned internet users expressing their desire to confront her. One user with the account name @thelifeof_tan commented on the video, stating, “You are not forgiven.”
