30-12-2023 (BANGKOK) In a shocking incident in Thalang district, a Russian man has been apprehended and charged with attempted murder after brutally slashing the throat of his own mother at their residence.
The incident came to light when the local police were alerted to a foreign woman admitted to Thalang Hospital with severe injuries resulting from a knife attack on Friday evening.
The 46-year-old victim, whose identity is being withheld, had suffered slash and stab wounds to her throat. During the initial questioning at the hospital, she managed to convey to the police that her assailant was none other than her own son.
Upon reaching the house, investigators discovered bloodstains scattered across the living room, with a bloodstained kitchen knife lying on the floor as grim evidence of the violent attack.
Shortly after this, tourist police received an alert about a foreign man who had appeared disoriented upon arrival at their office. His physical description matched that of the suspected attacker, as per the tourist police.
The apprehension team promptly took the man to the Thalang police station for further questioning. However, the suspect reportedly provided confusing statements during the interrogation.
Facing charges of attempted murder, the suspect is currently in custody at the Thalang police station, awaiting further legal proceedings. The motive behind the brutal attack on the mother remains under investigation as the authorities work to piece together the circumstances leading to this distressing incident.
