26-12-2023 (SEOUL) In what has been an exceptional year for Blackpink’s Jennie, the 27-year-old idol has made significant strides in her career, capping it off by announcing the establishment of her very own agency as 2023 draws to a close.
Jennie, who made her acting debut on HBO, concluded a groundbreaking world tour, and was honoured as a Member of the Order of the British Empire earlier in the year, took to her Instagram page on Sunday (Dec 24) to share her latest venture. The You And Me singer unveiled the creation of her label, Odd Atelier (OA), in a series of black-and-white images.
Expressing her gratitude for the accomplishments of the past year, Jennie stated, “I’m also excited about what’s to come, as I start my solo journey in 2024 with a company that I have established called OA. Please show lots of love for my new start with OA and of course, Blackpink. Thank you.”
OA, officially founded in November of the same year, describes itself on its Instagram page as “a space that aims to create new things that attract attention in a different way from what is usual or expected.” Alongside serving as an agency for Jennie’s solo ventures, OA seems to extend its influence into the fashion realm, as evidenced by a post featuring Jennie and a group donning OA-branded hoodies.
Looking ahead to 2024, Jennie is poised for continued success. Recently announced as a cast member of the upcoming variety show Apartment 404, she will also maintain her role in Blackpink, alongside Jisoo, Rose, and Lisa. The quartet renewed their contracts for group activities with YG Entertainment, solidifying their commitment to captivating global audiences with their music and performances. Jennie’s foray into establishing OA signals a promising chapter in her solo career, adding another layer to her multifaceted artistic journey.
