25-12-2023 (SEOUL) Tragedy struck in Seoul on Monday as a fire engulfed an apartment building, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and leaving 29 others injured. The blaze erupted at approximately 4:57 am local time (3:57 am Singapore time) on the third floor of the 27-story residential complex.
Among the injured, two men in their 30s and a woman in her 70s were rushed to nearby hospitals in cardiac arrest. Unfortunately, despite efforts to save them, two of the victims succumbed to their injuries. The exact identities of those who lost their lives have not been disclosed at this time.
Firefighters worked tirelessly to combat the flames, and it took approximately three hours to fully extinguish the fire. In total, 57 firefighting vehicles and over 200 personnel were deployed to the scene in a swift response by the fire authorities.
Both the police and fire authorities have initiated investigations to determine the cause of the devastating incident.
