28-11-2023 (SINGAPORE) The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) executed a successful raid on a residential unit in Pasir Ris, resulting in the confiscation of a karambit knife, knuckle dusters, 11g of Ice (methamphetamine), and drug paraphernalia. The unit’s owner, a 24-year-old male, attempted to evade arrest by climbing out of a window during the Nov 19 operation but was subsequently apprehended.
This incident is part of a larger islandwide CNB operation conducted from Nov 19 to 24, targeting various areas including Ang Mo Kio, Bukit Batok, Kallang, and Punggol. In total, 71 suspected drug offenders were arrested during this period.
The seized drugs, with an estimated street value of approximately $157,000, include 881g of heroin, 193g of Ice, 137g of cannabis, and one Erimin-5 tablet. In addition, a sum of $22,580.15 in cash was also confiscated.
Notably, a 64-year-old Singaporean man was arrested for suspected drug trafficking. CNB officers utilized force to access his residential unit in Redhill, where they discovered 81g of heroin, 13g of Ice, and $22,580.15 in cash.
It’s crucial to highlight that individuals found guilty of trafficking more than 15g of diamorphine (pure heroin) or 250g of methamphetamine may face the mandatory death penalty under Singaporean law.
The CNB emphasizes that investigations into all arrested suspects are ongoing, underscoring their commitment to addressing drug-related issues and maintaining public safety.
