Ryan Harris, the son of former AirAsia Indonesia president Pin Harris, tied the knot with Gwen Ashley Widodo, the daughter of a prominent real estate tycoon, in a lavish ceremony that captured attention on November 18.
The wedding, held at the Westin Surabaya in Surabaya City, Indonesia, was attended by over 2,000 guests, as reported by the New Straits Times. Both the bride and groom hail from influential families in Indonesia. The 35-year-old Harris is the only son of former AirAsia Indonesia president Pin Harris, while his 19-year-old wife, Gwen Ashley Widodo, is the daughter of Surabaya property tycoon Markus Widodo and fashion designer Warren Tjandra.
The event was hosted by Indonesian celebrities Raffi Ahmad and Melaney Ricardo, with performances by renowned singers Raisa, Afgan, and Via Vallen. International stars also made appearances, adding to the grandeur of the occasion. Nicole Scherzinger, famously known for her time in the Pussycat Dolls, graced the wedding with a mesmerizing performance. Other notable performers included Brian McFadden from Westlife and Keith Duffy of Boyzone. Younger fans may have recognized members of the UK boyband The Wanted in Gwen’s TikTok video as well.
The scale of the wedding was truly immense, with the couple reportedly booking almost the entire hotel, including the ballroom and guest rooms, to accommodate their extravagant celebration. Each guest was treated to door gifts from the luxury brand Hermès, estimated to cost approximately S$268 (US$200) each. In total, this would amount to an astonishing S$536,000.
