26-10-2023 (SEOUL) Renowned South Korean actor Lee Sun-kyun and K-pop sensation G-Dragon, leader of the chart-topping boy band BIGBANG, have found themselves embroiled in a drug investigation that has sent shockwaves through the entertainment world. Both Lee Sun-kyun and G-Dragon are facing allegations of drug use, prompting a thorough official inquiry by the authorities to ascertain the nature and frequency of their alleged drug consumption. As part of this investigation, both individuals will undergo urine tests to determine the presence of illegal substances in their systems.
The startling revelation that has sent ripples of concern throughout South Korea came to light as a hotel manager, who had dealings with both Lee Sun-kyun and G-Dragon, raised red flags regarding their purported involvement with illicit drugs. In response to these allegations, law enforcement agencies have taken swift action to unravel the truth behind these claims.
Local Korean media outlets have reported that the narcotics division of the local police recently confirmed that a certain doctor, identified as Mr. A, is under suspicion for providing drugs, free of charge, to both Lee Sun-kyun and G-Dragon. Mr. A now faces official charges of violating drug control regulations, but the police remain vigilant in their pursuit of additional sources of drug distribution beyond Mr. A.
Furthermore, there have been indications that the cases involving Lee Sun-kyun and G-Dragon are distinct, yet they share a common connection to a 29-year-old female hotel manager, known as Ms. B, stationed at a hotel in Seoul’s prestigious Gangnam district. Allegations suggest that Lee Sun-kyun was involved in recurrent marijuana use, reportedly with Ms. B at her residence in Seoul and within the confines of the Gangnam hotel. Another hotel employee, Ms. C, is also said to have been part of these activities. Moreover, there are suspicions that their involvement extended to the use of other illegal substances. In response, the police have initiated investigations into the actions of all three individuals. Notably, Ms. B found herself in legal trouble over the weekend, having been detained on charges of threatening Lee Sun-kyun and demanding a sum of 350 million Korean won (equivalent to approximately S$353,792).
In a separate but equally concerning incident, K-pop sensation G-Dragon has been booked for investigation into alleged drug use. This information, disclosed by sources, has led the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency to charge G-Dragon with illicit drug consumption. It has come to light that G-Dragon had previously been involved in the illegal smoking of marijuana back in 2011, although he was not formally prosecuted for this offence at that time.
