25-10-2023 (BEIJING) Two college students from Sichuan Vocational College of Information Technology in China brutally killed and dismembered a stray dog that they lured into their school dormitory.
According to Chinese media reports, the students enticed the stray dog into the locked toilet of the dormitory in the early hours of last Thursday (Oct 19) before carrying out the heinous act.
Disturbing photos circulating on Chinese social media revealed the skinned carcass of the dog, with its internal organs and severed limbs arranged meticulously on the dormitory floor.
After conducting an internal investigation, the college issued a statement on Oct 21, announcing that the incident had been reported to the local police. The two students involved have been referred to the authorities for further investigation and have been detained on campus while placed on probation.
The college’s statement strongly condemned acts of animal cruelty and pledged to enhance student education management in response to the incident.
The gruesome killing of the stray dog has provoked horror and anger among netizens, with many expressing their disbelief and condemning the actions of the students. One individual exclaimed, “How terrifying! Who would dare to have such a person as their classmate?”
Another netizen stated, “The dog is innocent. You can choose not to love it, but you cannot kill it.”
