24-10-2023 (SINGAPORE) In a tragic turn of events, the body of the female kayaker who had gone missing on October 22, 2023, has been discovered in the waters surrounding Sentosa Island.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force, in cooperation with local authorities, retrieved the body from the waters off Sentosa Island at 3 pm on Tuesday, October 24, according to a statement from the police reported by The Straits Times (ST). Subsequent identification confirmed the deceased as the missing 33-year-old kayaker.
Preliminary investigations by the police have not raised suspicions of foul play, suggesting that the kayaker’s disappearance may have been the result of an unfortunate accident.
The kayaker’s distressing journey began on Sunday, October 22, when she was reported missing near Sentosa Island. She had embarked on a kayaking expedition with three other companions, as reported by ST, but the adventure ended in tragedy with her untimely loss.
