23-10-2023 (BANGKOK) The Royal Thai Police (RTP) has issued orders to swiftly track down and capture the fugitive “Wealthy Pang Nanode” after he escaped from Maharat Nakhon Si Thammarat Hospital during the late hours of October 22, 2023. The situation has raised significant concerns, especially as the suspect has a history of engaging in armed confrontations with law enforcement.
On October 23, 2023, Police Lieutenant General Atichai Krithong, RTP Spokesperson, revealed that the escapee, Mr. Chaowalit Thongduang, aged 37, known as “Wealthy Pang Nanode,” managed to break free from the custody of officers at Maharat Nakhon Si Thammarat Hospital during the late hours of the previous night.
Upon receiving this alarming report, Police Major General Suraphong Thanomjit, the Commander of the Provincial Police Region 8, immediately issued urgent instructions to expedite the investigation and capture of Mr. Chaowalit. He also ordered the Special Operations Division, along with local police units, to collaborate in tracking and apprehending the suspect. Currently, there is vital evidence pointing to individuals who may have assisted Mr. Chaowalit in his escape. It is expected that an arrest warrant will be issued today, and further actions will be taken swiftly. The authorities are determined to ensure that justice is served, particularly given the severity of the case and the suspect’s history of criminal activities, including violent clashes with law enforcement.
In light of these developments, Police Lieutenant General Atichai Krithong has issued a stern warning to all police officers involved in the pursuit. He has emphasized the importance of exercising extreme caution and following established procedures when dealing with the suspect. Mr. Chaowalit is considered a significant and dangerous suspect with prior involvements in robbery and drug-related offenses, as well as a history of violent encounters with law enforcement.
