19-10-2023 (WARSAW) Polish authorities have apprehended a 22-year-old man following a peculiar series of thefts in a shopping center in Warsaw. The young man resorted to a rather unusual tactic by posing as a mannequin in front of a store window as a means of evading security cameras.
According to a statement from the police, the suspect was seen “frozen motionless, pretending to be a mannequin in front of a shop window while clutching a bag.” His intention was to avoid detection by the surveillance cameras, a plan he executed more than once.
On one occasion, after the shopping center had closed for the day, the man took the opportunity to rob a jewelry stand within the premises. This audacious act highlighted his unconventional approach to theft.
In another bizarre incident, the man casually entered a restaurant within the shopping center to enjoy a meal. However, he didn’t stop there. He managed to slip beneath the roller shutters at the entrance to a store, where he proceeded to change his clothes for new ones. Afterward, he returned to the restaurant for more food.
Despite his audacity, the man’s antics did not go unnoticed. Security personnel eventually spotted his unusual behavior and promptly alerted the police.
Furthermore, the suspect is accused of being involved in theft from another shopping center. Authorities claim he targeted cash registers and attempted to steal various items after the establishment had closed for business.
