This dramatic incident was reportedly triggered by an alleged insult directed at her after she made a proposition.
The confrontation, captured on video and subsequently shared on TikTok by the user ghostcars001, rapidly gained attention on Thai social media platforms, setting off intense online debates.
The widely circulated footage depicts the transgender woman relentlessly pursuing the tourist along Pattaya Beach during the evening hours. In a fit of fury, she attempts to strike and kick the tourist, who does his best to evade the blows and shield himself. Eventually, he manages to break free and flee the scene.
Subsequent to the incident, local media converged on the scene near the entrance of Soi 13/1 on Beach Road on October 15 to gather eyewitness accounts.
According to a 56-year-old bystander named Jaem, the altercation occurred on Friday, October 13. Jaem recounted witnessing a group of three tourists leisurely walking along the beachfront. The transgender woman, later identified in the video, reportedly offered her companionship to the tourists. However, the tourists declined her proposition, resulting in one of them allegedly dousing her with water and uttering derogatory remarks. This disrespectful act apparently triggered the violent response.
On Sunday, Pattaya’s police department reported that they had taken the transgender woman seen in the video into custody, and legal proceedings are currently underway. Simultaneously, efforts are being made to locate the tourist who was assaulted in order to obtain his perspective on the incident. The identity of the transgender individual is being kept confidential to protect her privacy.
