11-10-2023 (LOS ANGELES) Celebrity couple Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner have come to a temporary arrangement regarding the custody of their two daughters, Delphine, aged 15 months, and Willa, aged three. The former couple, who recently underwent mediation, released a joint statement outlining their plans for co-parenting and dividing their children’s time between the United States and the United Kingdom.
The statement, jointly issued by Jonas and Turner, expressed satisfaction with the productive and successful mediation process. It revealed that the children will now have the opportunity to spend equal amounts of time in both the US and the UK, residing in nurturing environments. The couple expressed optimism about their future co-parenting dynamic and their commitment to providing the best care for their daughters.
According to court documents obtained by People, the agreement was reached during a four-day mediation session held from October 4 to October 7. The documents outline the specific details of the custody arrangement. Turner will have custody of the children from October 9 to October 21, during which time she is permitted to travel with them within both England and the US.
On October 21, a nanny will return the children to their father, Joe Jonas. The musician will then have the same travel permissions until November 2. It has been stipulated that both Jonas and Turner must submit a status report letter, providing an update on the progress of their mediation. The temporary agreement will remain in effect until January 7, 2024.
This resolution comes after Turner initiated legal action against Jonas, accusing him of preventing her from taking their children to the UK. However, Jonas clarified that his actions were in compliance with a court order from Florida, where he filed for divorce. A representative for Jonas emphasized that the Florida Court had already issued an order restricting both parents from relocating the children.
