9-10-2023 (KUALA LUMPUR) The weight of financial pressures can take a toll on individuals, affecting their physical and mental well-being as they grapple with the uncertainty of sustaining themselves and their families. In a tragic incident, a 26-year-old Vietnamese woman reportedly chose to end her life by jumping off the 12th floor of her condominium, succumbing to her troubles.
According to a report by MalaysiaGazette, the incident occurred at a condominium on Jalan Syed Abdul Aziz, Banda Hilir in Melaka around midnight on Sunday (October 8). Christopher Patit, the district police chief of Melaka Tengah, stated that the lifeless body of Nguyen Thi Hong Loan was discovered inside a drain at 12:15 am.
The victim’s housemate informed the police that prior to the incident, they had dinner together at 10:30 pm. After dinner, the housemate noticed that the victim was not in the living room and assumed she had retired to bed. However, the sound of an ambulance siren below the condominium abruptly awakened them.
“Further investigation revealed that the victim had expressed feelings of stress due to her father incessantly demanding RM20,000 for an unspecified purpose,” explained Patit.
