2-10-2023 (KUALA LUMPUR) Road rage took a disturbing turn as a group of men unleashed a brutal attack on a motorcyclist after a simple honk escalated into a violent altercation at the Jalan Langat-Klang traffic light intersection, heading towards Klang.
The victim, a 21-year-old local citizen, filed a police report recounting the harrowing incident that occurred on Sunday at 7:15 pm. According to Assistant Commissioner Cha Hoong Fong, the South Klang District Police Chief, the victim honked at a Proton Saga car for driving recklessly, narrowly avoiding a collision. However, tempers flared, and the car’s driver abruptly stopped the motorcyclist at the intersection.
One of the car’s occupants proceeded to physically assault the victim, resulting in severe injuries. The assailant forcibly removed the victim from his motorcycle, strangling him and subjecting him to punches to the face, as well as kicks to the stomach and legs. The victim experienced pain and swelling on his lips, ribs, and legs as a result of the vicious attack. Furthermore, his motorcycle suffered damage amounting to RM250.
Local bystanders intervened to stop the violence, but the attacker continued to vent his fury by repeatedly kicking the victim’s motorcycle before finally leaving the scene. The police have launched an investigation into the incident under Section 323/427 of the Penal Code, which pertains to offenses related to intentionally causing injury and treachery.
