28-9-2023 (SEOUL) South Korean girl group NewJeans has made an exciting contribution to the highly anticipated League of Legends World Championship. Comprising talented members Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein, the band has recorded the anthem for the event, titled “Gods.” The song, penned by Riot Games’ principal composer Sebastien Najand and Mako’s Alex Seaver, allowed NewJeans to explore a new genre and sound, adding a fresh dimension to their musical repertoire.
Expressing their enthusiasm about the collaboration, the band shared, “It was fun to try a new genre and sound. Through this collaboration, we are happy to present a song that incorporates both NewJeans’ and League of Legends’ unique colors. We hope it brings you a new sense of empowerment!” Accompanying the track’s release on October 4, an animated video will captivate fans with its visual storytelling.
The highly anticipated World Championship is scheduled to take place in South Korea next month, adding significance to NewJeans’ involvement in this musical endeavor. Carrie Dun, the global head of creative, esports at Riot Games, reflected on the partnership, stating, “Between Worlds taking place in Korea and NewJeans’ meteoric rise, this partnership felt fated as a true cultural celebration.
