25-9-2023 (YANGON) Authorities in Myanmar’s eastern Shan state have confiscated an astonishing 254 kg of Methamphetamine (commonly known as ICE) and 2 kg of Ketamine, with a combined estimated worth of approximately 975,714 U.S. dollars. The seizure was made following a tip-off and an ensuing search of a dump truck by anti-narcotic police in Tachileik township on September 20.
The illegal drugs, categorized as psychotropic substances, were in transit from Kengtung to Tachileik when they were intercepted. In response to the seizure, the local township police have initiated legal proceedings against the suspect. Further investigations are currently in progress, conducted under the guidelines of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.
