23-9-2023 (TAIPEI) Tragedy struck southern Taiwan as a fire and explosion rocked a factory, leaving 6 people dead and 4 others missing, according to government reports on Friday, September 22. The factory in question was engaged in the production of golfing equipment.
The inferno erupted at a manufacturing plant located in an industrial zone situated in the county of Pingtung, Taiwan’s fire department confirmed.
Among the casualties, one of the confirmed fatalities was a firefighter, alongside three of the ten individuals who remain unaccounted for. The extent of the destruction and chaos led to nearly 100 people sustaining injuries, necessitating their immediate transportation to the hospital, as reported by the fire department.
