22-9-2023 (HANOI) The annual Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Day, known as AI4VN 2023, commenced in Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday, attracting a diverse group of AI enthusiasts to engage in discussions about the latest trends and advancements in the field.
This year, all AI4VN 2023 events are taking place at Riverside Palace in District 4, featuring four main activities: the AI Summit, the AI Workshop, the AI Expo, and the CTO Summit 2023, which will recognize and honor the company with the “best technology environment in Vietnam” award.
Under the theme “Artificial Intelligence Empowering Life,” the main session of the AI Summit 2023, beginning on Friday, has garnered significant interest, with thousands of registrations from individuals and communities interested in AI. The session will commence at 8:30 a.m. and will be reported online by VnExpress. Government leaders, ministries, large corporations, scientists, and technology enthusiasts are expected to participate, fostering discussions on technology development and AI applications.
Distinguished domestic and international speakers will share their stories and experiences, contributing to the growth of the AI ecosystem in Vietnam. The first presentation at the AI Summit will be delivered by Pablo Fuentes Nettel, a Senior Consultant at Oxford Insights, who will provide an update on the “Government AI Readiness Index.” Nettel will explore Vietnam’s potential by analyzing the perception of global AI readiness and examining measurement indicators in the country over the past year, considering its dynamic economy, young population, and the presence of tech unicorns.
Following Nettel’s presentation, experts from VinBigdata, Naver, VNPT, and Aqua will discuss the future applications of AI and share their practical implementation experiences, particularly in Korea.
To conclude the discussion sessions, five technology giants—Aqua, VinBigdata, FPT, Veronica, and Tri Nhan—will showcase AI application products, highlighting how technology is integrated into various aspects of business and daily life.
At 1:30 p.m., the CTO Summit will commence with a focus on “Vietnamese Enterprises in AI Trends.” Leaders from VNPT and FPT Smart Cloud will present beneficial AI solutions for different business categories, such as insurance, media, and programming. Experts from Heineken, VNPT, and FPT will engage in discussions and share early-stage experiences to help Vietnamese businesses seize AI opportunities and avoid missing out on emerging trends.
The event will also feature the inaugural Best Technology Environment Enterprise Awards ceremony. After a thorough selection process, 15 businesses have been chosen as finalists out of 50 candidates. The winners will be announced during the business forum, recognizing their commitment to fostering creativity, innovation, technology application, and creating an ideal technology environment for employees.
The AI Expo exhibition space will be open for two days, showcasing 30 exhibitors in the AI Show. Domestic and international businesses and organizations will demonstrate multi-industry technology applications and provide recruitment opportunities.
On Thursday afternoon, the event commenced with three AI Workshop sessions, addressing notable AI trends in finance, healthcare, and generative artificial intelligence in businesses. Speakers and AI experts discussed solutions to current challenges and strategies to maximize the benefits of AI technology in each respective field.
In addition, a workshop co-organized by the British Embassy explored the theme of “Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence.” The session delved into the responsible application of AI in various technological contexts, the development of AI standards, ethical considerations, and policy decision-making.
Bui Thu Lam from the Club of Faculties, Institutes, and School of Information Technology and Communications (FISU) expressed his expectations regarding AI4VN and its impact on the research, development, and application of artificial intelligence in Vietnam. He emphasized the importance of AI4VN in facilitating the timely update of AI technology with the latest research findings, while also serving as an inspiration for the sustainable growth of the AI ecosystem in Vietnam.
