22-9-2023 (WASHINGTON) United States Commits $116 Million in Humanitarian Aid for Rohingya Refugees in Myanmar and Bangladesh
Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced on Thursday (Sep 21) that the United States will provide an additional $116 million in humanitarian aid for Myanmar, Bangladesh, and the surrounding region to support Rohingya refugees who have fled Myanmar.
In a statement, Blinken highlighted that with this new funding, the United States has contributed over $2.2 billion in total assistance since August 2017, when more than 740,000 Rohingya people escaped genocide.
