15-9-2023 (LONDON) FIFA, the global football governing body, has unveiled the nominees for the prestigious 2023 FIFA football awards, and voting is now open for fans worldwide.
Football enthusiasts have the opportunity to cast their votes in various categories, including Best FIFA Women’s Player, Best FIFA Men’s Player, Best FIFA Women’s Coach, Best FIFA Men’s Coach, Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper, Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper, and the FIFA Fan Award. The voting window will remain open until October 6.
Among the nominees for the Best FIFA Women’s Player award, there is a strong presence from both world champions Spain and the runners-up England, with four players from each team making the 16-player shortlist. Meanwhile, the Best FIFA Men’s Player category includes six nominees who represent the Premier League club Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola, the head coach of Manchester City, has earned a nomination for the Best Men’s Coach award, alongside four of his coaching peers. The Best Women’s Coach category features five nominees, including the 2021 and 2022 winners, Emma Hayes and Sarina Wiegman.
Additionally, there are seven nominees in the Best Women’s Goalkeeper category and five in the corresponding Men’s Goalkeeper category.
