13-9-2023 (TOKYO) A 79-year-old man residing in a nursing home in Teshikaga, Hokkaido, has been arrested by police on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 100-year-old bedridden female resident in her room.
Mototsugu Sato allegedly sexually assaulted the woman at approximately 9:30 p.m. on September 7, as reported by Kyodo News. A staff member making their rounds caught him in the act.
The victim was subsequently transported to the hospital and tragically passed away at 12:50 a.m. on September 8.
The police are currently conducting an investigation to determine whether the incident was a contributing factor to her death.
