11-9-2023 (JAKARTA) An Indonesian TikTok user with the handle “desiindahsyft” posted an 18-second video that has garnered significant attention, accumulating nearly 400,000 likes, over 8,800 comments, and 2.4 million views in just five days.
In contrast to the typical scenes of men gathering, the video depicts five men sitting around a table, sipping tea and chatting. What sets this scene apart is that three of the men are cradling babies, each approximately one year old. The babies in the video either gaze in wonder at the conversations or the fathers speaking on their phones, some curiously looking around, and a few even playfully kicking their legs, providing a charming and amusing spectacle.
This rare sight of a group of dads caring for their infants has gone viral on social media. The video has garnered comments not only from Indonesian netizens but has also amused Malaysian viewers. Some commented humorously, suggesting that if friends remembered to bring their children along when going out, their wives wouldn’t be angry, and they could return home late without worries.
Others jokingly suggested that the location where the men were enjoying tea might be near a drugstore, implying that the men were waiting for their wives while looking after the children.
The humorous comments included phrases like “As long as they don’t smoke,” “There must be a mall nearby,” “Children behave well when they’re with their dads and get cranky with their moms,” “If it’s like this, I won’t get mad at him even if he comes home late… I won’t be angry,” and “People in their youth naturally want to go out, but they haven’t forgotten their responsibility as fathers.”
